Frightmares at Lagoon

We love to go to Lagoon in October for Frightmares.  Actually, it's not Frightmares that draws us there, although it adds to the fun, it's the cooler weather! We had the perfect day on Saturday.  It was warm all day.  Even at night we only needed our light jackets.  Usually when we go in October we make a trip to the car for our winter coats by the time it gets dark.

The Dragonfly was our first stop.

Actually we wanted to go to Wicked first before the lines got too crazy, but someone had to go to the bathroom and the Dragonfly was right there next to it.  Wicked was the long-anticipated ride for Brooke.  She went on it last year and didn't love it but was determined to try it again this year after all the roller coasters she went on in Orlando last Spring.  As soon as we got to the parking lot, however, she looked at Wicked and got nervous and thought she didn't want to go.  Mark strongly encouraged her to go (basically we said she was going no matter what).  She fretted the whole time in line but loved it in the end.  Actually, when it was over she said, "Now I can enjoy the rest of the day." We didn't succeed in getting Anna to ride it.  She says she will when she's 13.  She also rode all the big rides in Orlando.  It's that really steep climb and drop at the top that freaked them out.

Mark took Garrett and Lainie over the kids' area while Brooke, Anna, and I rode the Colossus and the Spider.  I didn't take many pictures the rest of the day. Garrett was really excited to ride the kids' roller coaster.  He is brave for a 2 1/2 year old.  He went on more rides than Lainie did.

Have to ride the choo choo!

  1. Looks like everyone had a BLAST!! I remember going to Lagoon in the 50's. WOW!! That was a long time ago. Of course, they have added many new rides since then.
Thanks for sharing the pictures!! Love them.
